Fine photography becomes art

About this image
Tony took this picture during a winter snow storm here in the country in northern Virginia. It's what we see when we look out the back window. When he showed me the print I realized it lets you see the snow covered tree really close up. Something that it not always possible.

Fine photography becomes art - by Tony Karp

When I look at this image I can see faces and little creatures in the various clumps of snow.

Move back from your screen and it has the look of a fine Japanese print. A piece of art.

  • Search Engine Optimization
If you practice search engine optimization you will become rich and famous and make loads of money on the web. Sounds good. So I am reading and trying to write and put in the keywords etc., etc. But something I saw the other day made me wonder about all this. If you use Internet Explorer and have the Google Tool Bar installed you will see the must coveted "Page Rank" This blog Art Muse 2.0 has a page rank of 6 out of 10. A page rand of 10 out of 10 probably means you have reached nirvana. So here's my question. How can someone who has only been blogging for a little more 100 days have such a high ranking? The wizards tell me that it's because I get the "juice" from Techno-Impressionist Museum.

The museum has been around for more that twelve years. Lots of places have links to it. It has a ranking of 7 out of 10.

We actually have a very simple way of determining who is going to which of our sites, which is the most popular and what we are doing that's driving traffic. We use something called Web Scope. It's a statistics package, that's very simple and easy to use. Tony designed and developed Web Scope when our first websites went up. The sites have changed but Web Scope continues to tell us what we need to see. Statistics are interesting but in the end you have to be able to correlate the numbers you are seeing with actions you take or actions that others take. This correlation is not simple.

We tried Google stats which we though were much to complex and based on what was being written to the access logs not that accurate.

Tony has been writing about the Sony camera he bought and returned. He explained what the problems were that caused him to return his first camera in fifty years. He also described it all in terms of how the design of the camera led to the flaws in it. He has been posting on one of the camera blogs and directing people to the Art and the Zen of Design posts. This is driving traffic our way. We can see it in the numbers. This correlation will drive Tony to do more posts on Art and the Zen of Design.

Another thing I noticed is that position of the page changes the amount of traffic. The link to this blog is on the main page of the Techno-Impressionist Museum. The higher up I am on the page the more hits I get.

    Tomorrow is Tony's birthday.
    Happy Birthday My Darling
