Portrait of the Art Muse - by Tony Karp
About this image

If Picasso had done a portrait of Tony Karp's muse (you know me as Art Muse 2.0) it might have looked like this. Picasso is one of the artist's that inspires Tony Karp. If Picasso were alive today he'd be using technology to create his art. He was always looking for something new, something to challenge him. Tony is the same way.

When Tony first created Techno-Impressionism and created the first version of the Techno-impressionist Museum he invented some imaginary artists to be his voice. When you are doing something that is so very different from the norm you can get away with it if you say it in jest. While the things Pablo PigCasso said were true nobody attacked it because it was a joke.

Twelve years have gone by and Techno-Impressionism is real. Tony is an acknowledged artist and we're selling the Techno-Impressionist art on line and in a real gallery.

For those of you who come to visit us from around the world we've created an on-line exhibit of the Techno-Impressionist Art in Tony Karp's studio/gallery located in Haymarket, Virginia. You can't separate the art movement called Techno-Impressionism and the artist Tony Karp. They are one and the same.

The Artist's Gallery - The Restroom Gallery.

The Artist's Gallery - The Workshop.

The Artist's Gallery - The Dining Room.

You can now purchase Tony Karp prints from his on-line gallery. You can pay by credit card or you can use your paypal account.

Musing of a muse

In between working on exhibits, writing this blog and being a Rotarian, I am the President of TLC Systems Corporation. (Sometimes Tony is the president). The consulting working we do is what pays the bills and supports the artist.

Lately I've put in a lot of hours because I have a central role in a big project. I call this putting your neck in the noose. It is very stressful and certainly not worth the money.

When I was young and in retrospect foolish I worked insane hours, on impossible projects. I was very good at it and still am. I can make things happen.

Today's musing is this. Keep your priorities straight. Work is not the most important thing. Your personal life, your relationships, your health and well being is what are important. I'm old now and I can see it clearly. When I was young like some you who are reading these words, I could not see it.

I worked in a world where companies took care of their employees. My health insurance was free for a long time. I am just about to start collecting a small pension from one of my jobs. It is very different now. The companies don't give a dam about their employees. Health care isn't free any more and who knows if the company will be around long enough for you to collect your pension.

It is all the more reason to keep your priorities straight. Your life is the most important thing.
