Electricity is an important component of our energy supply. This Electrifying series is a group of images Tony Karp created as he walked up and down the roads near where we live in Northern Virginia. His home and studio are located here. It's a very beautiful place

The people who keep the power flowing are skilled and brave. It is dangerous work. Even the birds make use of the lines. The electricity delivered by the lines you see in these images power Tony's world of virtual media that he uses to create his art. You can't have one without the other.
